At the Stade de France, the Bataclan, in the cafes and restaurants of Paris... on Friday 13th November, terrorists killed and wounded many innocent people. And in doing so, they also aimed also to kill these places that we love, places which represent culture and a spirit of sharing.
We at WorldEventListings share the grief of the friends and families of the victims of the terrorist attacks of 13th November 2015. And we offer our unconditional support to all the cultural venues affected.
Our raison d'être has always been to share cultural information with as many people as possible. We will continue. We will win. Their failure is only a matter of time.

Description

A Parisian adventure.

Cradled by the river Seine, the “city of love” invites you to discover its treasures. The top of the hill at Montmartre is a good place to begin your exploration of the city. The white domes of the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur dominate the skyline in the north of Paris. From the steps in front of the church you can admire the view of the city at your feet as you contemplate the day ahead of you.

Make your way down towards the Opera Garnier, passing through Pigalle with its famous cabaret, the Moulin Rouge. At night this is a bustling and vibrant area.

After admiring the sumptuous opera house, walk towards Boulevard Hausmann where you will find the ultimate chic Parisian shopping experience at the department store, Galeries Lafayette. Next, make your way to the legendary Champs Elysees, via Avenue Matignon with its art galleries. On the famous Parisian avenue crowned by the Arc de Triomphe, you will find plenty of shops and restaurants, including the Laduree tearoom where you can savour their delicious macaroons.

Strike out towards the Seine, passing the Grand Palais en route. Art-lovers will find an exhibition going on in the galleries or in the great glass-roofed nave. The banks of the Seine offer a romantic walk which will lead you to the Ile de la Cité and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. You can also take the opportunity to pop into the Louvre Museum and wonder at the thousands of works of art which it houses.

Next, cross the river via the wooden Pont des Arts, and explore the Left Bank, where you will find the Latin Quarter and the Sorbonne University. Wander as far as Saint-Germain-des-Prés and follow in the footsteps of Sartre and de Beauvoir with a stop at either the Café de Flore or Les Deux Magots.

As dusk falls, it’s time to meet the “iron lady”. At the foot of the Eiffel Tower, you can embark on a boat trip on the Seine which offers the chance to see the city’s monuments one last time and to admire the lights of the Eiffel Tower twinkling over the Parisian rooftops.
