At the Stade de France, the Bataclan, in the cafes and restaurants of Paris... on Friday 13th November, terrorists killed and wounded many innocent people. And in doing so, they also aimed also to kill these places that we love, places which represent culture and a spirit of sharing.
We at WorldEventListings share the grief of the friends and families of the victims of the terrorist attacks of 13th November 2015. And we offer our unconditional support to all the cultural venues affected.
Our raison d'être has always been to share cultural information with as many people as possible. We will continue. We will win. Their failure is only a matter of time.

Description

Culture and treasures galore.

A cosmopolitan and cultural city, London offers a packed day of exploring. Begin your day with a royal walk from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, via Big Ben. The Abbey is the resting place for the nation’s former monarchs, as well as being the venue for coronations and royal marriages, including that of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011.

Art-lovers will be delighted with the huge number of excellent museums and art galleries. For modern art in a spectacular setting, visit the Tate Modern. An art gallery housed in a converted former power station, it is worth a visit for the building as much as for the artwork within it. If you are fascinated by history, don’t miss the chance to visit the British Museum. The museum's collections cover a vast period of time and many cultures. You can find anything from Stone Age tools to Ancient Egyptian mummies; Greek and Roman sculptures to prints and drawings by Leonardo and Picasso. Finally, Madame Tussaud’s waxworks museum should appeal to the whole family.

Next, hop on the tube, and discover the cosmopolitan and eclectic district of Camden, which is worth a visit particularly for its markets.

At nightfall, make your way to the London Eye. This giant, illuminated wheel offers a breathtaking view across the London skyline, including the Thames and all the famous London landmarks such as the St Paul’s Cathedral or the Shard. At the end of the day, why not take in a musical in the West End?
