At the Stade de France, the Bataclan, in the cafes and restaurants of Paris... on Friday 13th November, terrorists killed and wounded many innocent people. And in doing so, they also aimed also to kill these places that we love, places which represent culture and a spirit of sharing.
We at WorldEventListings share the grief of the friends and families of the victims of the terrorist attacks of 13th November 2015. And we offer our unconditional support to all the cultural venues affected.
Our raison d'être has always been to share cultural information with as many people as possible. We will continue. We will win. Their failure is only a matter of time.

Description

The largest internment camp in France.

Until 1942, more than 10,000 people were incarcerated at the Camp des Milles. The first internment camp for anti-fascists of 27 nationalities, the Camp des Milles became a place of transit before the deportation of thousands of Jews to Auschwitz concentration camp. Among the prisoners were famous artists and intellectuals of Germany and Austria, including Max Ernst and Hans Bellmer.

The Camp des Milles is the only major French internment camp which is still intact and accessible, is now a place of education for young people. This historical reminder presents rare documents on Jewish children deported from France, and you can still see artistic traces left on the walls by prisoners.

The "wall of just acts" symbolising the resistance and the remembrance-carriage and memorial stele are also exhibited. The site opened on 10th September, 2012, a day which marked the anniversary of the last train that went to Auschwitz in 1942.
